My goal this year is to read at least 12 books. That’s manageable right? One per month, including audiobooks? More than doable!
First, a quick history.
I used to read a lot. It was a form of comfort and dissociation as a kid. I mostly devoured fantasy, like the Lord of the Rings and the Wheel of Time series. As I entered college, reading for pleasure dropped off the map. I just didn’t have time.
In 2019, I picked up a few books and actually finished them! 2021 saw me read more books that I’ve read since my adolescence, and I plan to continue that trend in 2022.
My Nightstand
Want to know what’s currently on my nightstand? Here are the books I’m currently reading, listening to on Audible, or are next up in the queue.
What I’ve Finished in 2022
This section is going to cover any book I finished in 2022. As of writing this, we are a week into the new year and I already have three books on the list. There’s a reason for that; I read them in 2021 and am re-reading them now. As I finish books I haven’t read yet, I’ll probably swap them to be on my “nightstand” (that’s in quotes as it blends my physical nightstand with my digital one.
What I Read from 2019 through 2021
Here are a handful of books I read between 2019 and 2021, excluding any that are back on my nightstand or that I finished in a subsequent year.
The keyword here is excluding. I read more than seven books in three years. In fact, I think I read at least seven in 2021 alone! It’s just that I re-read them or am I’m currently re-reading them, which bumped them to my Books Read in 2022 or my Nightstand lists above.
